At Auto Protek, we appreciate just how much Porsche owners love their cars. There really is something unique about a Porsche that sets it apart even from other performance cars. Many will have saved and worked for years to be able to buy a Porsche, fulfilling a dream that may have started with a poster on a bedroom wall. So, we’re always glad to help owners keep their Porsche in as close to the perfect condition that it deserves. We can keep that sumptuous appearance looking at its best for years. While the looks, sound and sensations of driving a Porsche appeal to the heart, the things that have always appealed to the head about Porsche ownership are that they hold their value well and are durable and refined enough to use every day. Our protection and detailing processes can help maintain your Porsche’s value as much as possible, so you can use it for many years and miles with a clear conscience. We have over 18 years of experience to bring you the very best in Porsche protection and detailing services.
For decades Porsche cars have been known as much for their build quality as for their performance and unique driving manners. The company was an early adopter of galvanised body panels and advanced surface preparation, protection and application techniques for the paint. This gave them a well-reserved reputation for the quality of their paint and their resistance to rust. But even the deep, hard-sitting Porsche paint can be affected by aggressive hazards such as tar and iron deposits, bird lime and urban atmospheric pollution, not to mention mechanical damage such as swirls and scratches.
One of the best ways to preserve your Porsche’s paintwork without committing to endless repetitive care (or keeping it locked up in a garage rather than being used as it is intended!) is to apply a ceramic coating. This bonds to the upper layers of the paintwork at a molecular level, creating a hard and shiny surface that resists light scratches as well as chemical damage. Our ceramic coatings are hydrophobic. This not only gives that photogenic ‘beading’ effect in the rain (so your Porsche will look great whatever the weather) but prevents paint and lacquer damage from water spots and stains.
At Auto Protek we offer ceramic coatings from five renowned manufacturers because, in our lengthy experience, some work better than others on different materials and surfaces. We can also provide ceramic coatings for your Porsche’s interior to keep leather, plastic and rubber from damage from stains. This can also combat longer-term damage from UV light.
For the ultimate in durable protection for your Porsche, whether on the outside or the interior, we recommend our paint protection film services. This is also the only protection we would recommend for classic Porsches built before the 1990s, which have one-stage enamel paintwork which is not properly compatible with ceramic coatings.
We work with multiple suppliers of PPF and have built up a stock of patterns for hundreds of models of cars, including most production Porsches. These patterns are cut into PPF using our computer-controlled plotter. This ensures a precise fit and alignment. We also have our own PPF installation booth with state-of-the-art lighting and dust filtration.
To suit different budgets and needs, we offer several different packages for PPF, whether you just want to protect your Porsche’s low-slung front end from stone chips or get PPF applied to the entire vehicle or something in between. We also install PPFs for interior surfaces, touch screens and even your Porsche’s key fob.
Porsche is unusual among sports car manufacturers in carrying out a paint correction process before the car leaves the factory – this is to ensure an even colour across all the bodywork and remove any swirls or microscratches put into the paint during the assembly, finishing and testing process. But even a flawless factory finish can pick up defects over time, from inevitable scratches around door handles from watches or rings, to swirls from washing sponges to paint discoloration from uneven sun exposure. Auto Protek can remove these defects and restore your Porsche to its former glory.
If your Porsche has suffered from paint damage or wear that goes beyond what a detailing can restore, we can also offer Porsche paint correction services. We use a multi-stage process to remove swirl marks, etching, water spots, dull or faded colour patches and more to revitalise a tired-looking car. We always finish our paint correction work with a glossy protective sealant as a minimum – ceramic coating and PPF can be applied for superior protection.
Whether you’ve just taken delivery of a brand-new Porsche or want to return a loved car to good as new condition after a few years of enjoyment, Auto Protek can detail it to the highest standards. We’ll take up to two days to wash, clay-bar, machine polish and clean every surface inside and out. For cars that aren’t brand new, we’ll clean the brake callipers, degrease and clean the engine bay, remove tar and iron particles from the bodywork and deep clean and sanitise the interior among other services to renew your Porsche’s appearance.
We can also do a maintenance detail on a Porsche that has previously received one of our protective coats. As well as a thorough clean, we’ll ‘top up’ the coating to ensure the coating and the paint underneath remains in the best possible condition and at full effectiveness.
Auto Protek offers window tint films from all three major manufacturers, so you can be sure to get the tint that fits both your Porsche and your needs. We have a tint to match every purpose, from clear films that protect the windows from scratches and chips to anti-glare tints to dark privacy films.
