Car Detailing in Hampshire
Paint protection film and detailing from our Minley workshop, a few minutes from Fleet, Yateley and Hartley Wintney.
Built for what Hampshire does to paint: salt air on the Solent, gravel tracks in the New Forest, and stone chips on the M3 and M27.
Auto Protek details and protects cars from across Hampshire at its own workshop at Minley Manor, just off the A327 in the north-east of the county, with enclosed collection available within 40 miles for a fee. As of 25 September 2026, Auto Protek has more than 170 Google reviews, all but one of them five-star, and many mention paint protection film by name.

PPF for Hampshire’s Coast, Forest and Motorways
Car detailing, paint correction and protection, done properly, is a multi-stage process, not a wash: Auto Protek decontaminates the paintwork, wheels and glass, deep cleans the interior, corrects swirls and oxidation where the paint needs it, and then protects the finish with front-end PPF, a ceramic coating or both, chosen for where the car lives. The order matters in Hampshire because the county attacks paint in four different ways. It has a long, broken coastline, one of the largest expanses of ancient woodland left in England, two motorways, and a belt of chalk running from the Hampshire Downs to the South Downs. Each does its own kind of damage to the paintwork, so a detail that ignores which one your vehicle lives with only puts the paint right for a while. Protection is what keeps it right, and it is what extends the life of the finish.

Car Detailing, Paint and Protection: Why a Workshop Beats a Driveway
Most searches for car detailing Hampshire return mobile valeting services, and a good mobile service is fine for a maintenance wash. Film and correction are different work, which is why Auto Protek does them only in its own fully equipped paint protection studio at Minley Manor. Indoors, the process and the quality are controlled: no rain or pollen landing on fresh film, directional LED lighting that shows every swirl, paint thickness checked before any polishing, patterns cut on a plotter so no blade touches the car, and a secure unit with no public access. As one owner put it on a UK Porsche forum, “car detailers can sometimes be a bit like estate agents – completely unregulated and anyone with a phone or bucket can be one.” Since 2015 the Auto Protek team has completed more than 5,000 vehicles to one standard of quality, from the detailing process to the finished detail, and this is what that standard changes.
| What a driveway cannot control | What happens in our workshop at Minley |
|---|---|
| Rain, wind, dust and pollen landing on fresh film or coating | Every car is worked on indoors in a clean, controlled unit, and film is left to cure before the car leaves. |
| Flat daylight that hides swirl marks | Every panel is inspected under directional LED lighting to map defects before work begins, and again before handover. |
| Guesswork about how much paint there is to polish | Paint depth is measured so correction stays safely within your clear coat. |
| A blade trimming film on the car | Panels are pre-cut on a Graphtec plotter so no blade ever touches your paint, and edges are tucked and wrapped by hand. |
| A car left on the street while someone works on it | A secure unit with no public access, and more than £2 million of insurance from collection to handover. |
| Not knowing who is holding the polisher | An XPEL-certified installer since 2015 and a Gyeon Accredited Detailing Center, with more than 5,000 vehicles completed. |
Deep Cleans, Correction and Protection, Stage by Stage
Every Auto Protek car detailing service follows the same stages, with every detail tailored to the vehicle’s condition rather than sold from a fixed menu. It starts with a free assessment and a fixed price, then a safe multi-stage wash and chemical decontamination that lifts iron, tar and salt from the paintwork, the wheels and the tyres. The interior is treated as its own job, from hand-stitched leather to carbon fibre trim. Where the paint needs it, machine correction removes swirls, light scratches, deeper scratches and oxidation to enhance gloss, colour, clarity and the quality of the finish, and the finish is then protected with paint protection film, a Gyeon ceramic coating or both. Nothing is sold that the car does not need: a daily driver with healthy paint may only need a maintenance detail, while a new car, a brand-new delivery or a prestige car usually gets correction and protection to keep it in showroom condition for the life of the paint.

From Fleet to the Solent
Choosing Film for Coastal, Forest and Motorway Cars
The right film coverage depends on where the car spends its miles, so Auto Protek matches the coverage to the driving before quoting. A car on the M27 every day needs the whole front end protected; a car kept near the water benefits from full coverage against salt; a car on forest lanes needs its sills and arches covered. We fit XPEL Ultimate Plus and SunTek Ultra, two brands we trust because each brand stands behind its film, both self-healing, both backed by 10-year warranties against yellowing, cracking and peeling, and both designed to keep the factory finish looking the way it did on delivery. These are the four starting points, with prices including VAT.

| Where the car spends its miles | Coverage | From |
|---|---|---|
| Town running around Basingstoke, Farnborough and Aldershot | Partial Front: the areas most exposed to stone chips on everyday roads | £799 |
| Regular M3 or M27 commuting | Full Front: the entire front end, with no exposed paint where debris lands first | £1,500 |
| Downland A-roads, New Forest lanes and spirited weekend driving | Track Pack: adds the leading edges and rear arches that catch debris at speed | £1,900 |
| Cars kept near the coast, and new or prestige cars you plan to keep | Full Vehicle: every painted panel wrapped in film | £4,400 |
Final quotes depend on make, model and paint condition. See PPF packages and prices for the detail.

Eleven Districts, Two Cities, One Workshop
Auto Protek’s car detailing services, from car detailing, paint correction and film to interior work, reach all eleven districts run by Hampshire County Council and both unitary cities, Southampton and Portsmouth, from one workshop in the north-east of the county. Collection is enclosed, not open: a car that has just been detailed, or is about to be, should not sit on an open trailer collecting road spray and stone chips on the way, so it travels covered in both directions. Our collection service is available for a fee within 40 miles of Minley, and we schedule the pick-up and the return around your week so the appointment fits your diary rather than the other way round. How quickly we can collect depends on where you are, in three tiers:
Owners Who Trusted Us With Their Cars
Months of questions, then a same-day job. One owner asked us questions by email for months before he booked. We adjusted our opening times so he could drop the car off early, finished everything he asked for plus a little more, and he collected it the same day at the price he was quoted. He had used another company before and would not go back to it, which is a detail we hear often from new customers.
“Fantastic experience – first car with PPF – organised, highest duty of care and superb quality of work. Car transported on time / regular communication and bespoke work done – completely satisfied.”
David Rowe, Google review, 9 October 2025
“We had PPF applied to the front end, side sills and rear diffuser of our M3 Touring and Dan and the team have done a superb job at applying it. Completely invisible and fitted in a timely manner.”
Oliver Hart, BMW M3 Touring, Google review, 29 June 2026
“Had a new car detail, PPF and ceramic coating. Dan and the team did a great job and made the car perfect. Communication with them is always great, as is the after sales advice.”
Nick Dodson, Google review, 13 May 2026
“Adjusted opening times so I could drop off early, then completed all I asked plus a bit more and I collected the same day for the same cost quoted … There secure location with no public access without being escorted is reassuring!”
Gavin Smith, Triumph owner, Google review, 2 September 2026
Best for New Car Owners and Cars Kept With Care
We are the right fit if your car is new, prestige or simply cared for, if it lives near the coast or the forest, or if it does real motorway mileage on the M3 and M27. We are the right fit if you want the work done in a workshop under proper lighting rather than on a driveway, and if you want a fixed price before anything starts.
We are not the right fit if you need a quick wash at the kerbside this afternoon. A good mobile valeting company will serve you better for that, and we would rather tell you so. If you want the paint put right and kept right, we should talk.

The Hampshire Car Market in Numbers
Hampshire is home to 1,844,245 people across 3,769 square kilometres, making it one of the most populous counties in England, and its population splits in a way that decides what a car detail needs to do. Most people live in two places: the South Hampshire built-up area around Southampton and Portsmouth, with 855,569 people, and the Farnborough and Aldershot area in the north-east, with 252,937. Cars in the south live with salt air and the M27, cars in the north-east live with the M3, and the rural middle of the county, with two national parks in the New Forest and the South Downs, produces grit, gravel and chalk. A single approach to detailing does not fit all three, which is why every Auto Protek job starts with where the car lives and how it is driven, and why our detailing, paint correction and interior detailing services are chosen car by car, with every detail matched to the vehicle.
That is how the Minley workshop works: an honest assessment, decontamination matched to where the car lives, correction only where it is needed, protection chosen for the car’s actual miles, and a senior technician’s full inspection under lighting before the car goes home.
