At Auto Protek, we understand the heritage that has led to your Audi and how much they are prized by their owners. It’s natural that many Audi owners will want to be sure of keeping their car not only looking like new but perhaps better than new. And we appreciate how much value owners put on protecting their Audi from the potential damage of use and daily life, from scratches and stone chips to bird lime and brake dust. We’re passionate about protecting special cars and bring over 18 years of experience to our detailing and protection services. So you can be sure that we will provide the very best for your Audi.
Auto Protek can offer a fastidious detailing service. We can detail your Audi to the most thorough standards. Our level of detailing depends on your requirements, but a typical detailing operation will take two days. We will wash, clay-bar, machine polish and clean every exterior and internal surface. Even on a brand-new car, this can bring a new level of shine, lustre and colour to the paintwork and trim.
For cars that aren’t brand new, our detailing service includes cleaning the brake callipers, a full degrease, wash and clean of the engine bay, remove tar and iron deposits from the bodywork and give the interior a deep and sanitising clean. This can take the appearance of years and miles off your Audi and make it look as good as new.
For our existing or regular customers, we can carry out ‘maintenance details’, which don’t take as long but keep your Audi up to the mark. When we’ve installed or applied one of our protective coatings, we can check, maintain and renew the coating where needed.
Audi is a mass-production car marque using Volkswagen production processes. So the usual paint quality is good but not exceptional. Like a lot of Volkswagen products, modern Audis tend to have relatively ‘soft’ paint that scratches quite easily. This is because of environmental standards that determine the chemical composition of the paint and clearcoat, which cannot be as ‘hard’ as the paint of decades past. The upside is that these paints have proven to be more durable with time and much less prone to fading or weathering.
This means that paint protection film (PPF) is a good investment for your Audi. It will protect the paintwork from scratches, swirls, chips and other forms of damage. Our years of experience have shown that no one PPF supplier offers the best product for all applications, so we work with multiple suppliers. And we’ve built up a huge stock of film patterns that includes all contemporary Audi models and many from the brand’s past.
Our computer-controlled plotter and cutter makes the individual PPF sheets for each car on demand to ensure a precise, smart fit. Your Audi will be fitted with PPF in our dedicated installation booth with state-of-the-art lighting and full dust filtration.
You don’t have to apply PPF over your entire Audi – we offer different packages to suit needs and budgets. Whether it’s just the nose of your car (which picks up most damage), every exterior surface or something in between, we have a PPF package to suit you and your Audi. We can also apply PPF to interior surfaces such as gloss, satin or carbon trim, touch screens and the key fob.
A ceramic coating applied by Auto Protek will make it much easier to maintain your Audi’s fresh and shiny appearance. Like our PPF products, we offer several different brands of ceramic coating based on our experience of which ones are the most effective on particular paint types and materials. This means we always use the best product for your vehicle and requirements.
A ceramic coating bonds to the upper surface of paintwork, creating a shiny, smooth and resistant surface. It won’t shrug off major threats like stone chips, door dings or deliberate key scratches. But it will help stop things like grit marks, iron flakes, road salt, clothing buttons and keys held against the paint while using the door handle from damaging the paint itself.
The real benefit of a ceramic coating is that it makes washing your Audi faster and more effective. The smooth, hard surface means that dry dirt and dust just rinse off and wet mud, bird lime and tree sap can’t bond to the paintwork and come off much more easily. It makes rain and hose water ‘bead’, which not only looks great but prevents water marks and stains on the paint. And the ceramic coating retains a deep shine far better than any wax or polish – rinse off the dirt, a quick dry (not having to worry about swirl marks) and it will be back to looking new.
We can also apply a ceramic coating to your Audi’s interior. Leather, plastic and rubber surfaces can all have ceramic coatings to protect them from stains and UV light.
Before either PPF or a ceramic coating is applied to your Audi, Auto Protek will always carry out some sort of paint correction. The appearance and effectiveness of either of these treatments depend entirely on the condition of the paintwork underneath. However good the protective layer is, it won’t make scratched, faded paint covered in swirl marks and bird mess etchings look any better. A smooth, clean surface also ensures that the PPF or ceramic coating properly applies and bonds to the paint for maximum possible durability.
These defects, picked up by all but the least used and most pampered cars, are nearly always in the clear coat of lacquer – the topmost layer in the paintwork. The lacquer coat exists to protect the paint underneath and be a ‘workable’ surface to restore its appearance. Auto Protek’s paint correction sees the affected upper part of the lacquer removed by machine polishing, leaving a fresh, smooth and clean surface. Before polishing, we measure the depth of the lacquer and paintwork to see how deep any damage goes, how much lacquer needs to be polished away and to ensure that we leave enough to maintain and protect the paint underneath.
It is this newly polished, smooth and clean surface that is then preserved and protected under PPF or a ceramic coating. Paint correction takes our skilled technicians no less than five hours (for a car that just needs fine swirls or light defects removing) to 30 hours or more for a deep, multi-stage process of heavy, fine and finishing polishing stages at different grades and depths over an entire car.
We also offer paint correction as a stand-alone service to refresh or renew your Audi’s appearance. If you choose not to have a ceramic coating or PPF applied to your Audi after paint correction, we will seal the restored lacquer in a high-gloss sealant.
Auto Protek offers window tint films from all three major manufacturers, so you can be sure to get the tint that fits both your Audi and your needs. We have a tint to match every purpose, from clear films that protect the windows from scratches and chips to anti-glare tints to dark privacy films.
